My current work is expressionist, aiming to convey emotions beyond traditional happiness, sadness, and anger. Rooted in my artistic passion is a desire to portray Black women in art as complex, weird, and difficult, like me. Through my art, I expose intricate and overlooked pieces of myself, rejecting compartmentalization. I create with the intention of fostering a sense of belonging for those who have had to overcome feeling invisibility of true self and hyper-visibility of a more "palatable" self. My art serves as a reflection for both present and past versions of myself who have grappled with these feelings.
